HGCS Fine Arts Shirts On Sale Now!
The Fine Arts Department and the AAA Booster Club have teamed up to offer a Fine Arts shirt for our students and parents for $20 each. All proceeds will go to the fine arts.

Charlotte Dance Festival Gala Performance Opportunity
Honors Dance Company has the opportunity to audition for inclusion in the Charlotte Dance Festival Gala Performance on March 16th and 17th at the Patricia McBride and Jean Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance.
Audition video is due by October 31st, so Wednesday dance company rehearsals from September 26th - October 31st will be crucial to attend.
Student Participation Fee for the entire weekend is $80 (due by January 20) and includes:Please discuss as a family and let Mrs. Caton know if you cannot commit for planning purposes.
4 classes over 2 days, 2 lunches, a t-shirt, 1 ticket to the CDF Gala on March 16-17, 2018.
Note: The $80 fee does not include tickets for parents to the CDF Gala or the Youth Gala.
Meet the New Director of Bands, LaNette Crowe
LaNette Crowe holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wingate University
and a Master of Music in Performance Studies in Piano from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While at UNCG, she also obtained the requirements for a Master of Music Education degree. She currently has Master’s level of Music Education certification in grades K-12 for the state of North Carolina. Since then, she has earned her Level 1 Orff certification as well as certification in Education through Movement in Michigan.
Mrs. Crowe has a passion for performing arts education and is especially excited to teach in a Christian environment. She has taught in public schools in both North and South Carolina.
She has also taught private lessons in piano, flute and voice. One hundred percent of her piano students have earned superior ratings in their participation at the NFMC festivals.
In addition, she has served in local churches leading worship, praise bands and choirs
Along with her husband and three children, Mrs. Crowe are members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is looking forward to teaching band at both the middle school and high school levels, assisting with the high school choir, and implementing a recorder karate program with all 5th grade students. She is very passionate for the arts and performance but also wants to emphasize teaching students the art of worship through their music.
